Health & Wellness Institute

The Health & Wellness Institute’s research is multidisciplinary and collaborative. It involves researchers from across the campus, as well as a variety of participants and collaborators from the community and all levels of government. Acadia's research excellence and strong community ties have led to renowned programs and research centres such as the Fed Family Lab, Sensory Motor Instructional Leadership Experience (S.M.I.L.E.®), Kinderskills, and the Red Spruce Mental Health Centre. Hundreds of students, community members and donors participate in these community-based initiatives each year.

Community development and knowledge translation are central to the Institute’s mandate. In collaboration with Université Sainte-Anne, we are creating French and English learning environments to help communities across the region create develop their own research capacity using best practices.
